Cooking Classes
Stark & Whyte has a resident chef, Janet Spino, who hosts weekly
cooking classes at the store using the store’s facilities. Janet
is a dynamic chef who holds a DEP in Cuisine d'Établissement
and an ASP in Cuisine Actualisé. She was honored as student of the
year in both programs. Her experience covers chef-restaurateur owner of
her own café and she has worked as a chef, caterer and teacher.
She won first prize for an original recipe, in a competition sponsored
by the Quebec Poultry Producers in 2007.
Janet's passion for family, friends
and food is evident in the charitable and community benevolent activities
she's associated herself with throughout the years

is affiliated with the Centre de formation professionnelle JACQUES-ROUSSEAU.
This school is a top-rated chefs’ school
based in Longueil, near Montreal, offering students a chance to become
fully qualified chefs and prepare them for their careers in the culinary
arts. The school is funded by the Ministry of Education and their professional
chef training is conducted by professional chefs and teachers. The school
has its own training kitchen and as well, chefs learn meat skills in the
Butcher Shop, the art of bread-making in the Bakery, creation of pastries
in the Pâtisserie and experience a course in the Bartending School.

Supplies who host cake-decorating classes.

* Customers will learn different techniques through demonstration
* $30 per person. We accept a maximum of 11 people per class.

Cake Decorating Classes
Here’s how our cake decorating courses work: Classes
are held monthly. Attendees must participate in 4 consecutive classes for
$100, which includes an instruction booklet and kit. At the end of the
course, each participant will receive a gift. To book a class, please email

We also offer Group cooking and baking classes. If you
would like to do a group booking with your friends and family, please contact
us. We can even cater to your choice of menu!
